You always said you wanted a blog post about you so here you go- if I could even contemplate putting what we have into words on something as daft as a blog I wouldn’t even attempt it, but if I even capture one millionth of it in words it’ll be worth it. Once you told me that you can’t help who you fall for and I never really understood it until it happened. I never really thought it would be you (bear with me)- there was never anything fundamentally wrong with you, nothing I thought I could fix. And stupidly it took me years (PLURAL) to figure out that that wasn’t a bad thing and maybe I was just waiting to find a fatal flaw that doesn’t exist. We’ve both had our issues with each other but once we finally got our shit none of it mattered. All that matters is that I fell in love with one of my best friends and one of the best men I know. You’re one of the very few people who not only make me laugh but make me wish I came up with that joke first. I even like that you rap in the car- but never do your Nicki Minaj impression again…that was just awful.

On that note it calls the end of sisterthursday after three years of blogging and building a career out of it. So thanks and bye- ST x

Christmas is over for another year. It closes at 9pm on Boxing Day so I’m told. This Christmas I couldn’t help thinking what a consumer holiday it is- I don’t know if I’m getting old and evermore cynical but the pictures of people ramming their sack of bones into Next, rolling around in a trough of hangers and insane profit margins until they come out panting, souless, dead behind the eyes, ‘BUT LOOK KAREN I got 14 tops I’ll never wear for a fiver…’. Jesus.

Social media is the worst for it. It makes bragging incessant and hard to ignore and as a gal who works in social media makes me feel VERY anti-social indeed.

So everyone, we understand that you simply can’t wait to try that new hairdo from that vaccous popstar with your excessively priced hair styling doo-da or are chomping at the bit to brag WHEREVER AND WHENEVER you like with your new ipad but just lay off it.

The best thing about my Christmas? My Dad did a funny dance in my room. It was great.

Merry Christmas consumerist monsters and happy day with lots of food and forced happiness to all others.
